Account control
Delete your account
You can permanently delete your account inside Kita. The steps below also explain what happens to a shared household.
Updated 18 August 2026
Delete from the app
- Open Kita and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Open Settings, then Profile.
- Select Delete account.
- Read the confirmation and confirm Delete.
Account deletion is permanent. Export anything you need and tell other household members before confirming.
If you cannot sign in
Email [email protected] from the email address registered to your Kita account with the subject “Kita account deletion request”. We may ask you to verify ownership. Never send your password or household invite code.
What is deleted
- Your Kita account, active sessions, profile and registered push tokens.
- Personal media and data that exist only for your account.
- If you are the last member, the household and its service data, including shared chores, groceries, calendar, financial records, chat history and stored household media.
What can remain
If other members remain in a shared household, shared records they rely on may remain so their household history is not silently destroyed. Your deleted account cannot use or regain access to them. Limited security, fraud-prevention, dispute or legal records may be retained where necessary and are removed or anonymized when no longer required.
Processing the request
In-app deletion begins immediately after confirmation. Email requests are processed after account ownership is verified. Copies in protected backups may remain until those backups rotate and are not restored except for disaster recovery.
Need help first?
If you only want to stop reminders, turn Notifications off in Settings. If you want to stop optional transaction detection, turn Automatic transaction detection off. Neither action deletes your account.
